Tram of Thought: Comic strip about psychology, philosophy, society, engineering, and just life in all its gory glory

Average

On the first image, a Square-person is shown pointing to a handrail next to a staircase: 'Average person does not need a handrail,' they say. A Triangle-person next to them is considering their words. On the second image, the Square is shown ripping out the handrail, exclaiming 'Just a waste of space!'. Triangle person walks away disgusted. On the third image, a cloud of smoke appears, with someone behind it holding a scythe and saying 'Oh hello! Speaking about averages...' On the last image, Square looks freaked out - the mysterious figure turns out to be a black-clad, Triangle-skeleton threateningly holding a scythe towards the Square, who says 'Did you know an average person is dead?'

‘Average person does not need a handrail.’

‘Just a waste of space!’

POOF

‘Oh, hello! Speaking about averages…’

‘Did you know an average person is dead?’

According to the internets, more than 100 billion people ever lived. This is way more than people currently alive. Doing the math, an average person is only about 10% alive - or to rephrase it - mostly dead.
