Economic forecast

On the first image, a Triangle-person is shown in a rowboat, saying “February economic forecast:”. The boat is in a bath full of water, with the tap running. Alongside the rowboat there is also a toy round sailingboat and a toy cargo ship.
On the second image, the Triangle-person says “Ebbing tide…”, while the plug has been removed and the water is quickly draining away. The sailboat and the rowboat are going down towards the drain, while the ship is largely undisturbed.
On the third image, the Triangle-person lies on their side dead or unconscious, the water has drained completely, and both the sailboat and the ship are laying upside down in the tub. The Triangle-person is thinking: “Sinks all boats.”
There is a somewhat known saying “a rising tide lifts all boats” which is used to explain how free-market, libertarian policies benefit everyone.
In modern setting the phrase may be used ironically, as free-market politics failed to share the generated wealth and lead to more inequality.
This comic is an adaptation of the phrase as a commentary of the economic climate in early 2025, where right-wing governments turn inwards and attempt to dismantle established institutions.
